What SnapZilo reads, where it keeps it and who sees it. The short answer: everything it reads off your screenshots stays on your phone — nothing comes to us or to anyone else. The long answer follows.

Last updated · 7 October 2026 Covers the SnapZilo app (com.snapzilo.app) and this website A product of Sigmative LLC

The short version

  • SnapZilo reads your screenshots on your phone. Nothing it reads is sent to us or to anyone else — the app does not even have internet permission.
  • There is no account. We don't know who you are, and we collect nothing about you.
  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Google ML Kit's own usage logging is switched off.
  • You can wipe everything SnapZilo has read at any time, and uninstalling removes all of it.
  • We sell no data — we have none to sell.

Who we are

SnapZilo is made by Sigmative LLC (“we”). This policy covers the SnapZilo app for Android (package com.snapzilo.app) and this website. Our address and the ways to reach us are at the end.

What stays on your phone

SnapZilo's job is reading your screenshots, so it has to keep some things — but it keeps them only on your phone, inside the app:

  • Your screenshotsSnapZilo lists the images in your phone's Screenshots folders and reads them: the words on them, what kind of screen each is (a receipt, a ticket, a meme…) and which app it was taken in. The images themselves are never copied, moved or changed.
  • What it reads off themThe text, the pile each screenshot goes in, its title, and the things worth a tap — dates, addresses, phone numbers, Wi-Fi networks and passwords, codes, totals, a wallet's balance and account number. This is the search index, kept in a database inside the app.
  • Your profile, if you fill it inA name, phone number, address and photo, under Settings › Profile. All optional, kept only inside the app, and left out of every backup.
  • Your settingsTheme, accent, whether Bangla is read, and the like.

None of this leaves your phone. SnapZilo has no server, and we never receive a copy of any of it.

What we collect

Nothing. SnapZilo does not collect, send or share personal data. The internet permission (android.permission.INTERNET) is removed from the app you install from Google Play, so Android itself stops it from opening any connection. There is no account or sign-in, no advertising ID, no analytics and no crash-reporting service.

The reading models

Text is read by Google ML Kit (English and other Latin script) and Tesseract (Bangla), both built into the app and run on your phone; neither downloads anything. ML Kit normally logs its usage to Google in the background — SnapZilo switches that off in every build, and without internet permission it could not be sent anyway.

What the app asks permission for

Each permission is there for one job, and any of them can be taken back at any time in Android's Settings › Apps › SnapZilo › Permissions.

  • Photos (screenshots) READ_MEDIA_IMAGESTo list and read your screenshots. Only the Screenshots folders are opened, not your other photos. On Android 14 and later you can share just the screenshots you pick. (Older Android versions call this storage access.)
  • Calendar READ_CALENDAR · WRITE_CALENDARAsked only when you tap Add to calendar, to add that one event. SnapZilo looks up which calendars you have so it can pick one to write to; it does not read your events. Refuse, and your calendar app's own form opens instead.
  • Contacts READ_CONTACTS · WRITE_CONTACTSAsked only when you tap Save contact, to write that new contact. SnapZilo does not read your address book or send it anywhere. Refuse, and the phone's own new-contact form opens instead.
  • Wi-Fi ACCESS_WIFI_STATE · CHANGE_WIFI_STATEGranted at install, never asked for: whether Wi-Fi is on, and — on Android 10 and older — handing a network to the phone when you tap Join. From Android 11, Join uses Android's own “Save this network?” sheet, which needs no permission at all. Neither reaches the internet, and SnapZilo does not ask for location.
  • Vibration VIBRATEFor the small taps of haptic feedback the app gives.

The profile photo comes through Android's photo picker, which needs no permission — SnapZilo gets only the picture you pick. SnapZilo has no camera, microphone, location or internet permission.

Backup

Encrypted backup is off until you switch it on in Settings. When it is on, SnapZilo writes one snapshot of its search index — what it read, never the images — into the single folder it lets Android back up. Android's own backup service then keeps it in your Google account, encrypted end to end with your screen lock; on a phone that cannot encrypt a backup that way, nothing is backed up at all.

We never receive this backup and cannot read it. Switching it off deletes the snapshot, so the next backup holds nothing of SnapZilo's. Your profile is never part of any backup.

When you tap an action

Some taps hand something to another app on your phone: Open Maps gives the address to your maps app, Call or Email to your phone or mail app, a link to your browser, Share to the app you pick, and Join to Android's Wi-Fi settings. What those apps do with it is up to their own privacy policies. SnapZilo itself sends nothing.

What you can control

  • Settings › Wipe search index deletes everything SnapZilo has read, and it stops reading until you tell it to start again. Your screenshots are not touched.
  • Settings › Profile — clear any field or remove the photo.
  • Auto-import and Read Bangla text can both be switched off in Settings.
  • Take back photo, calendar or contacts access at any time in Settings › Apps › SnapZilo › Permissions.
  • Uninstalling SnapZilo deletes everything it kept. Step by step: delete your data.

This website

This website is a handful of plain pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It remembers the language you pick in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your browser. The search on the home page runs in your browser, over the samples on the page — nothing you type is sent anywhere.

The pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers to fetch them, as it would for any site that uses them. The service that hosts these pages may keep standard access logs (such as IP addresses) for security, as web hosts do.

Children

SnapZilo is not made for children under 13 — and it collects no personal data from anyone, children included.

Changes to this policy

If SnapZilo ever starts doing something with data that this page does not describe, this page changes first, the date at the top moves, and what changed is written here. If paid features are added, purchases will go through Google Play, which handles the payment — and this page will say what that involves before they ship.
